I received the following newspaper articles yesterday from Don Covington regarding the current sale of Mr. Slifka's Park Avenue apartment to which Barbara and I were invited several times.
A very nice man, I lifted this photo from a Big Apple program.
I remember a day in 1987 when we were showing out in Queens while the Red Show was down town in the Garden and Bobby Gibbs suggested that we drive down and watch them load out at a crossing not far away from our lot.
Alan happened to be there that evening and we managed to talk him into going along so we all piled into Dave Hale's truck that pulled the camel trailer and off we went.
Alan was just like a little boy in a strawberry patch and the evening was crowned by his introduction to Gunther who, as always was very gracious.
If memory serves correctly, this was also the occasion when Lee Keener pulled me to one side and told me that "Targa" had just died in up Providence with the Blue Show.

I was fairly well acquainted with Alan over many years. You could not meet a finer more gracious human being.
