Don C. "Okie" Carr was on Miller's boat show, and was present at the sinking. He told me it was a serious low point for D.R. Help came from a source entirely unexpected. The carny man, King Reid, took some of the attractions on his route to give them time to recover and eventually make their way back home to Hugo.

Roger,
Mari Jo Couls, was there and told me Dory gave her the organ used in the performance.
Isla and Barbara Jane was also at the sinking.
Barbara Jane said she and her mother was in tears, Dory said oh don't worry about it and they went up the hill to eat and Dory fixed there meal at the eatery.
Barbara said the Fleterus had it's own china and had teak wood.
Just another minor set back taken in stride.

I saw the remnants of the boat circus in Sept when King Reid played his then long-standing date with the Eastern States Exposition (now The Big E) in West Springfield, Mass., near where I grew up. Reid, incidentally, was a Vermont state senator.
