I knew Raymond Duke in the later year when he was booking for Fisher Bros Circus.

For those who may not know, Raymond was B.K. Silverlakes father.
Peggy and Shorty Sylvester were prominent on the Beatty show for several years. Peggy became a sort of mother figure for the workingmen, holding some of their pay for them against long winters of no pay in Winter Quarters.
I was wrong. It was Ralph Duke I worked with when he was a booking agent. Brothers?
No relation. Ralf Duke has a large family of daughters and son Paul,[elephant guy]. Daughters have been quite active in circus biz.

B.K.'s mother was Emma Duke she and Myrna Silverlake's daughter Janice Ruth were murdered in Mel's and B.k's home in the valley in Texas in the fall of 1975. J.R. was about six weeks shy of her sixteenth birthday. It was a working man, who they thought J.R surprised when she and Joe Silverlake came home from the movie.J.R screamed,Emma got out of bed and he shot her too. Joe had gone to his folks trailer.
