From Richard Reynolds

Here is the biggest of them all - -Yossi at the Ramat Gan zoo in Israel.
According to the Elephant Information Database, Yossi stands 12’-2” at the shoulder and weighs 15,000 lbs. Veteran elephant keeper Alan Roocraft said he is the largest elephant he has ever seen. In order to get to his stall he must pass beneath a heavy metal railing which is 3.50 meters (11’ 5.7”) off the ground and Yossi must lower his shoulders to pass below it.
At this size he is almost a foot and a half taller than Jumbo. I believe him to be the largest elephant ever in captivity.
Yossi was born on August 11, 1974 at the Tel Aviv zoo. He in turn has sired 23 calves which must be a record for a breeding male in captivity of any species.

Chic, this is not necessary chisled in stone. All are different and we have even had totally "tuskless males". I believe Joe of the "ranch herd" was just that.

Wish there was a photo of him standing beside something. I have an old photo, somewhere in my bunch of stuff taken in the National zoo in wash DC when my Dad worked there under Dr. Mann and it shows him out in the yard standing directly under the big African female named "Jumbino" and my Dad was about five nine and there was a little room to spare. They had a nice old ex RBBB asian female as the "herd" at the zoo.
