Mounting up for the show's "Opening", that's right, another set of wardrobe just for this number.
Shannon and Dalilah appeared early in this procession on "Charlie" and "Bonnie" after which the salute to the audience by entire Cast and Company was our cue to come charging back in with 19 elephants for a long mount on the front track, timed to be completed with Harold Ronks's ".......the Greatest Show On Earth"
I might add that as the last few elephants were exiting the arena, Charly's tigers were already into their first trick.

Speaking of another set of wardrobe, brings to mind a funny set of events. Seems the wardrobe lady ( whoever it was at that time.) took it upon herself to tell me that I could only have one pair of tights per costume. Each costume with exact matching colors. Three costumes. Now first this was for a five year old. Next she rides elephants. So each show a dirty pair of tights per costume. So I said I need more tights, If not I had to wash tights after each show. Not this lady. Charley Bauman told me that Gunther washed his tights. SO I TOLD CHARLEY TO JUST SEND MY DAUGHTER'S TIGHTS TO GUNTHER, THEY DIDN'T TAKE UP MUCH ROOM. AND GUNTHER COULD WASH HERS AT THE SAME TIME AS HIS. Well that was no go. The wardrobe lady stood fast. I never put my kids in the contract. So I told Mr. B. that my Daughter would not be working. As I did not mind washing tights like I did my own. When I had half a dozen or so I put them in the washing machine. But I did not stand at the sink in my dressing room washing tights. Well Charley called Ervin & Kenneth Feld. They flew in with Don Foot & Mel. Don told me They dyed tights all night. I had so many tights, I couldn't count them . Much later on I saw Gunther, and he said that he would have washed Dalilah's tights and mine too....LOL... A few silly things like that happened......As they say "What and give up show business."...... Barbara......
