From two days ago! #1

Relating to the recent saga  about the demise of the elephant "Tony", this is Estrella Nelson (later Mrs. Zack Terrell) at the 1934 Chicago World's Fair presenting "Juno", "Big Katie" and "Tony" ironically worked by Smitty, the man advising my father about "Tony's" disposition the Cole Show ten years later.

Allen King had a fine cat act that made a big hit at the Live Power show. The next year,'35,he was 2nd billed on letterheads and railcars to Clyde Beatty, when Adkins and Terrell fielded the new "miracle show", Cole Bros Circus with Clyde Beatty and Allen King. Not far into the season, King's act was dropped and his name was painted out.

For the Record Estrella was pronounced as if it had a "y" in it, sounding something like Australia. She was a beautiful and gracious lady.

Roger: I think only one flat had Allen's name on it; after he left to go with Rice Bros the lettering was modified to read "Animal KIng."
