Death Car #3


This photo of my wife Pat and myself impersonating Bonnie & Clyde was taken a few years ago when we were considering joint careers as brigands. (Instead, I ended up working for the U.S. Government, which, some might argue, is the ultimate form of brigandism.)

I worked for the U.S. Navy as a civilian Teleproductions Specialist, writing and directing informational videos used for training Navy pilots and aircrews. The command I worked for ran the Navy’s West Coast “Survival, Evasion, Resistance and Escape School,” where personnel with a “high risk of capture” were taught what to do if they ever became POWs. The staff included several former POWs and the school also operated a remote training site in San Diego’s back-country that included a (super classified) “working” POW camp where highly realistic training was conducted.
