I wonder if this was an alternative to the side show band (minstrel or--popular at this time into the 1950s--a Hawaiian band). I recall an old bagpiper (but no Highland dancer or drummer) on Beatty-Cole toward the end of when it carried a side show). The loud piper, a big drum, and a pretty dancer showing plenty of leg was a good bally! Anybody know when Beatty-Cole last carried a side show? And the manager? Dick Flint Baltimore
Paul, I only claim to know stuff for times before I was born. After 53 straight years of catching the Beatty show, it all blends together as one great pleasant memory--and you know how memory gets at our age! Dick Flint Baltimore
