thank you for sharing the photos this morning. We don't see very many color photos of the Ringling show in the late 30's. This photo is interesting as it shows the ac ducts on the big top that was used with the swamp coolers made by Buffalo Forge in 1939. They were first used at the Chicago stand that year and carried till WWII when they were dropped because of the reduced train space and lack of manpower. These eight units were sold and ended up all over the world. Also see the Norman Bel Geddes gorilla tent in the background. I think these photos may have been taken in 39' or 40' as we see the baggage wagons still have their wooden wheels. p.j.
