Hi Buckles!
My name is Jerry Blackman. Currently I am a grad student at Yale University conducting research for my thesis on white tigers. I posted on an earlier entry, and was hoping that you'd be available for an email exchange because it seems as if you are well versed on the subject. I've already contacted Wade Burck about my genealogy questions, but perhaps you too would be open for a dialogue. Please write me back at jerry.blackman@yale.edu. Thank you so much!

The Stevens show sure didn't like to get their name out there too BIG.

I will be willing to bet that most of this stand of paper was another circuses and Stevens used what they could and posted there on.
Look at the Bros 3 ring circus and they used a one sheet date to cover what ever was in front of the Bros and you don't cover up your on shows name.
And the date said Here and they did not even have the towns name as it was cheaper to have Here today.
I would really like to know what Joe Fleming said about this show as it sure does not look like much to me.

Paul: You'll notice on both sides of the tiger are three-sheets with the title covered by dates, no doubt because they have another title than Stevens Bros printed at the top.

Joe Fleming had a ton of circus photos that he had taken himself.

I got several sets from him. Nice chap and easy to deal with.

After his demise, Bob MacDougall went on a mission to his home to see about buying his negatives. But most were gone by then.

Richard,
I corresponded with Mr. Fleming and yes a real nice old time fan that was a farmer.
I bet they had an estate sale and some ebayer got the negs as I have a REA express bill when some one at Cole in Louisville shipped Joe a circus wagon wheel and the bill was like $2 or 3 dollars.
No wonder why the circuses used REA for shipping posters.
A real shame a circus fan could not have gotten the negs.
