Slightly off topic here, I have never known the source of the seven young elephants that Hugo trained for Circus World. I forget when the import ban started but were these fresh imports?
In early 1972 I opened my Tampa Tribune to behold the picture of a young elephant affixed along side the Ringling manure truck and being towed to the Venice Quarters.
Evidently with both shows on the road nothing else to anchor them to.
The same vehicle later gloried in my Circus World pictures.
Those seven elephants were included with the delivery of the Billy Smart elephants from England.
I believe Siam was the herd lead
& Kongo was obvious & wasn't
there a Putzi or could that be
your number 2
