way on very short runs

Hi Buckles, when Tarzan was performing on his own, he made a Rochester Shrine Circus. He had two electric winches in the cat semi to pull up the cages. Easiest cages that I ever helped to load.

Does anyone remember when in the 70's the cat cages on Carson & Barnes were loaded with a fork lift onto the tops of the seat wagons?
Many of those cages were of thin plywood. One misstep and the 'real' circus would have started.

I believe you are mentioning the

double wide cage wagons he built

while he was still working for

Hubert Castle that were double

cable winch hauled up the runs

but were awkward to manhandle on

rough terrain (& very heavy)

Elephant guy KY [virgil seagraves] was a fair carpenter-builder and in wtqtrs built these cages [very crude] and the cat truck trailer also built in wtqtrs. Burma pulled them back and forth from side show-mgrerie to back door. Tough in the mud.
Yes I remember the no wheels cages loaded with the fork lift. Pretty crude as well.johnny

Mr.Herriot Even the wheeled cat act cages were loaded on the seat wagons. Along with the very crude no wheel cages. 22 cages in all if I remember correctly.
