Chic knows Albert's legal surname.
Dennis Stevens was a contortionist and appeared on three circuses in his career: Polack Bros., RBBB and Clyde Beatty-Cole Brothers. I think he was on each show for 20 years. Dennis was from Utica, New York if my memory is correct.
Albert's last name is and I am not sure of the spelling: Myrowitz. That is a how it was pronounced. I have his nieces writings of his life story and could look it up if I remembered where I put it. Jackie LeClaire
Jackie - I forgot all about Dennis' hat. That' true, he wore it all the time. Thanks for reminding me. He didn't do Commack in his later years; he said it was something (dust?) that he couldn't tolerate. I might be wrong. I'm sure Kenny Dodd can fill in the blanks.
Does anyone know if clown Dennis Stevens was his real name? I am doing genealogy on my family. He was my father's half brother. All of my family are deceased so I have no one to ask questions....and get answers. I met him in 1985 in Sarasota where he retired and died the following year. I can't find out anything showing he was from New York born around 1914. Can anyone help me??

While we wait for Jackie, the balloons are "mouse in the house". Anyone remember them?

Isn't Paul Jung top center?
Bob
I had known Gene but remembered
his last name wrong (sorry)
I recall the double balloon as
Mouse In A Glass House
After placing the the eared 8"
inside the clear 10" you put a
little air between them & then
inflated the inside balloon
If you used a helium mix in the
1st step only it gave them just
a little lift so you didn't need
sticks & could use string
Actually it was "Mickey Mouse in
A Glass House"
Dennis Stevens top right who moved over for years to Beatty Cole;

I recall Dennis wore that same
hat in performance as well as in
street clothes

I think it was the cold he hated
we had several Easter Sundays in
the snow & the local gas man did
very well with those 100 lb tanks
Hoses froze unless they were
wrapped in heat tape cords

I believe Dennis was from the Utica, New York area and that Stevens was a stage name. It would be best to have someone else confirm that information.
Kenny Dodd says it was his name
Kenny knew him very well
Oops correction Kenny just spoke
with Jackie & they believe that
it wasn't his real name afterall
