The plot has John Wayne emulating James A. Bailey by loading his circus onto a ship and taking it to Europe. Before it can be unloaded, however, the ship capsizes at its moorings, destroying everything before the film is barely 30 minutes old. (It was as if DeMille had wrecked the Ringling circus train at the beginning of TGSOE rather than at the end!) |

Barbara Byrd once told me that they got the idea from her Dad's (Dorey Miller)ship sinking.
Dorey tried to get some money from them but no deal.
