When ever I call a Carnival that doesn't know me to book a spot. They sometimes ask "Why are you calling us?" To which I reply "Cause Crafts 20 Big and the Greater Sheesley are no longer in Business" ...usually get a chuckle...
I believe The Sheesley Show later became Cetlin & Wilson. Someone correct me if I`m wrong.
Hal, You are correct.
Hattiesburg is the clue that tells us that William Hornblower Jones took these pix. He was a character who visited show lots for many years recording the equipment for later generations.
My father, Prince Henry Gwaltney, worked for the Greater Sheesley Shows circa 1926.
Is there a way I can post a picture of my dad?
Can someone inform me if there was a man named Freddie Porter, that married Ella Dolores Whalen in 1925 , that worked for The Greater Sheesley Show?
I believe she also worked as a 'soubret'. Can you also explain this?
Thanks,
Bonnie

My Grand-father (William “Harry” Moore) and great-grandmother (Jeanne Williams) were with the Shessley shows in the 1920’s till the end when John Shessley died in October 1944. Anyone know anything about them? They were mentioned in the last tribute to John Sheesley (Billboard Magazine November 11, 1944 edition Vol. 56 No. 46 page 32 cont 55.....
It’s hard finding photos of specific people. If you haven’t posted the photo try FB David Doc Rivera with the photo and connection to which show..
Anyone know anything about Freddie Porter or Delores Whalen please contact me.
They were married in covington Kentucky in 1925.
Ive not been able to find the record.
I was told i had to know the exact place of marriage.
Thanks for any assistance in the matter.
Bonnie
