The Ringling quarters in Sarasota had an agreement also with the county. (it had started in 1927) As long as they ran a 1/4 page ad for Sarasota in the programs, they would have a property tax benefit in return. Someone dropped the ball in 1958, and the ad did not appear in the program. According to the Sarasota Herald-Tribune of Oct.21th,1958, that "a motion to end the property tax benefit agreement with the circus was passed by the county commission."
Before the Sarasota quarters was left to run down in the late 50's, it had at one time in the winter seasons over 100,000 visitors each year. p.j.

Could that be Bob McDougall, on the left?
Lloyd Morgan.
Just to the left of Lloyd Sr is a
stenciled image of a gondola with
the words "Visit Venice Florida"
"Winter Home" that the C of C asked
for in trade for some favors
Those stencils were removed when
John Mikos the Sarasota County tax
collector used the image in court
trying to extract more "tangible
tax" money on the residency basis
His main objective in life was to
get the show to pay more taxes
