Venice continued #1

If you will indulge an old man's fancy, most of these pictures have been shown repeatedly but they do relate to subject of the Venice Quarters.
One thing that puzzled me about yesterday's overhead shot of the Quarters was that the area behind the elephant barn was completely barren.
This picture shows an abundance of pine trees in that same area, under which the rest of the herd can be seen camped out while all three herds shared the place.

Buckles,
Last time I stayed at quarters, in the summer of 1991, the back area between the elephant/horse barn and the welding shop had been chain link fenced in and was used for a grazing area for camels, horses, and other hoof stock. There were a number of tree's gone, and I was told they had died and been removed.

The pasture behind the elephant/hay/horse and pony barn was for horses and camels.. the shop was next to where we had Buckles herd and we actually practiced in the shade a lot!!:)
