According to Arthur Godfrey’s voice over commentary, the battleship consisted of 24 separate sections carried by 24 web girls and their 24 male web sitters. The music used for this number during the broadcast was “Anchor’s Away,” “Around the World in 80 Days” and “If You Were the Only Girl in the World.”
It appears that they're doing a great job of carrying, 52 years ago, hard to believe. Time flies, drat.
