The Zacchini family was very clever about building and re-building their cannons. Looks like the cab and a half was replaced by this single cab...but they kept the engine hood.
In the 1960's all 5 of the Zacchini cannons were modified to look like rocketships.
Sorry Jimmy it's a different truck
It was the same cannon however
Well I got my info from Hugo Zacchini and a Bandwagon article by Fred Pfening...but what do they know!
With all due respect to those highly
esteemed gentlemen Jimmy it was not
the same truck
At least 1 of Pappa's (Edmundo) rigs
had a photoraphic darkroom inside
& a small kitchenette
Neither of these rigs were Hugo's
I can't imagine what would be said about my claims of the Bruno Zacchini cannon at the Ringling Museum being the former X-15 that was cut up and welded to a B model Mack Truck!
Check out the shape of the top of the driver's window. Rounded on silver truck, squared upper corners on blue truck, suggests different trucks
And door on blue truck has embossed surface while silver truck has a flat surface on door. Also different door handles
Would be an unusual place to begin re-build unless they put a jeep cab on,not a normal museum reconstruction
