Here with see the side entrance the cat's used to come into the arena and leave, as mentioned the other day to Henry. The "man" door is on the left, and with a "normal" net arena that is also where the cat's enter. Ringling needed the track open for spec's, which is why they ran the cat's in from the end ring. Hawthorn had a chute which I used when I was there to move the cats from the end ring, into the back of the arena. GGW was the only Ringling trainer I remembered seeing who had his pyramid set facing the front, which means turned from how Charlys is in the opening trick. GGW's tigers entered the arena and walked directly onto the pyramid. Although Charlys pyramid faced the end track to open he did all his behaviors, lay down sit up, roll overs etc. facing front. He did a second pyramid later in the act where the cats sat up at different heights and he set the props facing front for that pyramid.

This photo shows it that way Wade but when we went out in 78 both Jewell and Charly faced the front track..
