Here is Karen at the Cleveland Zoo, shortly after arrival. She is being given a treat by Mrs. Goss. The man with his arm around Karen is Vernon Stouffer, a very wealthy Clevelander and trustee of the Cleveland Zoological Society. He founded Stouffer's highly successful chain of restaurants and prepared foods. He also owned the baseball Cleveland Indians of the American League.
