The 1992 Vista Steam Fair also had displays of old gasoline-powered tractors and other farm equipment. This WATERLOO BOY tractor was made sometime between 1917 and 1924. In 1918, the company was bought by John Deere, which had been trying to come up with a tractor design of its own. (In 1923, John Deere finally came out with its popular Model D tractor, which remained in production for some 30 years.) “Nothing runs like a Deere.” |
