Even the best of the best have bad days. In 1953, the famous show jumper Harry Llewellyn took a crashing fall during The Horse of the Year Show. The horse leapt to its feet but Harry lay still for a few seconds and the crowd watched anxiously as he slowly pulled himself to his hands and knees and began fumbling his way to the side of the arena. Two men from the ambulance team rushed into the arena, but Harry waved them away. “I’m not hurt,” he told them. “I’m just looking for a tooth I’ve lost.” |
