Is anyone still around who saw the Curtis seat wagons in operation and can comment on how well they worked?
My Dad said he heard from people that were on the show that on an unusually muddy lot they absolutely destroyed the interior of the big top spotting them, hippodrome track included making the performance almost impossible
Prior to that they could always get the seat wagons close outside the stake line to gilly in enough seats to get by and the rest could be strawed or stand.
i AM SURPRISED TO SEE ALL THOSE SEAT WAGONS TAKING UP THAT MUCH FLAT CAR SPACE ON WHAT? A 30 CAR SHOW? wHAT SEASON WOULD THIS BE. I recall old clown Mickey McDonald talking about the H.Y.Barry year and how nobody got paid and you could not even get a small draw. It was a bad season and Barry was a real A hole.
