Could it have been from the Ringling Bros. Elephant Ballet? I think the girl that danced ballet in the center ring was Vera Zorina. How I remember this I do not know. Wasn't George Balanchine the choreographer? I do not remember who did or what was the music. I am just taking a shot in the dark part of memory in life.

Where ever it was, it certainly will never be seen again!

Even if a great name composed the music--Igor Stravinsky--his Elephant Ballet number was forgettable. I've heard it once and it just drones on. Merle Evans hated it.
One musical number aside, John Ringling North's first stint as head of the show (1938-42) was one of the high points in the history of the show. He re-invigorated the show and proved himself a showman worthy of the Barnum name in the title when he promoted Gargantua. Too bad he didn't do it again when the show moved into buildings.
