It's apparent that ye/all have not seen the Rings Around the World. A series of European circuses hosted by Don Amiche by Joe Cate., This photo, I am sure, is of that era, Yes, the one and the only "Gunther" PS Joe father of Phoebe Cates of the Movie Gremlins.
Now that I think about it was the Cates circus series that would have been the first time seeing Gunther I recall him taking tickets on the front door, nice segment. Early 60's.
Now thinking back I believe I saw the Cates circus series in the theater as I recall it was in color and at that time color TV's were not the norm far and few between ,I also recall the year Nixon and Kennedy were running for the big office while showing the fair in Beaumont Texas the big thing at the fair was an exhibit with a color TV set "WOW"

Very nice blanket & I like the
spiral stripe on the quarter poles
Isn't this Gunther
Sure looks like The Man to me, probably taken in Germany.
Paul
The "W" is for Williams & this is
most likely in the Williams top
Shame Henry can't tell us
Perhaps Jeanette can
A very reliable source confirms
it is indeed Gunther on Kongo
in the Williams Top mid 60s
