According to IMDb, this was the Barstows only big screen appearance. Fans of old movies will probably also note that the cast includes the well-known character actor Sheldon Leonard. (Leonard plays the bartender who throws Jimmy Stewart out into the snow in IT’S A WONDERFUL LIFE.) In addition to a lot of movie and TV work as an actor, Leonard was also a successful television producer.
Haven't noticed much show worthy
offerings from you lately "DAD"
Only complaints (what's the beef)
Richard Barstow (aside from his
temper tantrums) was responsible
for many well directed productions
He remained a close acquainance of
mine long after he left the show
I did a number of rehearsals with him and noted his nasty temperment and then lovey-dovey but he could be exasperating. On his ladst rehearsal he made an uncomplimentory comment over the mike in reference to Kenny Feld, who was just working into the company and Bob Dover and myself realized this was the Buffalo Bill [last appearance] for dear Richard. How true. He did do some great shows over the years but I believe he was "running out of gas" He 3was quite a copycat as well.I had ups and downs with him but we ended up as friends. johnny
That Buffalo Bill remark reminded
me of a good friend's parting words
to the fellow mentioned as he put
his office keys on his desk "You
wouldn't be here if your daddy
didn't buy you a circus" & left
