In Waco, Texas, in '57, I had a golden afternoon with Doc Henderson, waiting on the system boxcars to come in with the elephants. He talked to me of his book, and was quite taken that I had damn near memorized it. I was glad the train ran a little late, as this time with Doc was irreplaceable.
