More Globes! #2

Two years later we see "Anna May", now in the Miller-Woodcock elephant act, still rolling the new and improved version.
He once told me that he tried to get the band to play "Roll-A, Bowl-A, Ball, A Penny a Pitch!" but they ignored him.

In trying to get the jump on Eric

Down at an English fair,
One evening I was there,
When I heard a showman shouting
underneath the flare:

Hoi've got a lo-ve-ly bunch o'
coconuts.
There they are a-standin' in a
row.
Big ones, small ones, some as big
as yer 'ead!
Give 'em a twist, a flick o' the
wrist,
That's what the showman said.

Hoi've got a lo-ve-ly bunch o'
coconuts.
Hevery ball yer throw will make me
rich.
There stands me wife, the idol of
me life,
Singin' "roll a-bowl a ball, a
penny a pitch!

Gee thanks, Chic. Now I'll be humming that all day (old men do that).

But to more important matters, Buckles: Were you still in the Army when your folks were with Siebrand?

Merv Griffin sang that as a novelty song when he was a band singer and occasionally sang it on his TV show.
