From Buckles #2

My Dad often said that "A gentleman travels by rail!" but it wasn't until I started driving our elephant truck and listening to his stories that I got to know him.

Buckles,

I got to know my dad better when he and I had time alone in the car on road trips when we got to talk. Learned all kinds of things about him I hadn't known. I highly recommend it.

You've taken me back to driving for Clyde Beatty, with him right beside me in the front seat of his white Cadillac. You're both right. There's nothing to compare with knowing a circus man when you make the jumps with him overland. What he related on those nights was priceless. I was so in awe of my good fortune, it's a miracle I kept that Caddy and the Airstream on the road.
