2009 Calendar #122

Aerialist Juanita "Neets" Deisler, flyer with the flying Randolls, RBBB, 1942.

"Ernestine Baer once told me that her family, the Clarkes, had a long history with the Ringlings and when she joined the show was surprisingly given a private dressing tent by no less than Robert Ringling, to the chagrin of some of the Old Guard.
Tho well intended, she badly missed the companionship of the ladies dressing room until her friend Neets Deisler agreed to join her.
She added that one day during the performance, they heard an unexpected roar from the audience and thinking that one of Alfred Court's cats might have escaped, they peered over the sidewall just in time to see the flames coming over the top of the big top."

Yes, her husband was Roy and as I remember, the catcher. I have no idea of what year, or years I was on the show with them, but do think it was in the Concello era. RBBB had three flying acts at the time.
