Buckles,
I hope you are well. Recently I acquired some original color slides of the Ringling show in 1954—the year I continue to research in detail. I am sending along some of the elephant images which you are welcome to use on your blog if you choose. I was able to identify a couple of the bulls from the work harnesses but if you know any of the others that would be great.
I will send them in a couple of emails so as not to choke up the cyber cables!!

No, I am sorry I don,t know. I am going to CHS CONVENTION IN A COUPLE OF WEEKS. I,ll see if I can find out. They are of excellent quality.
These color slides were taken by W.W. Deppe in Chicago on Aug 28, 1954. Deppe is best known to fans as the Baraboo businessman who helped construct the performance pavilion and bridge at the Circus World Museum--and who trucked many of Chappie's wagon finds to Baraboo. Until hundreds of these wonderful circus images came on the market some months ago, I had no idea he was that much of an old fan or great photographer. He also loved steam trains and took many more slides of big locomotives than of the circus. It is a shame these great shots didn't get to the museum as they are about as good as it gets when it comes to color circus photography of Ringling under canvas. Congratulations Rick Faber, many thanks for sharing also, and I hope more are on their way to this great blog!
