Aggie and Dugan learn that the "promissory note" for $200 she had signed with Darlow’s father was, in fact, a bill of sale for the lions. “You performers sign your names on contracts all the time and never read them,” Dugan points out to Aggie. A court order now gives Darlow the legal right to seize the lions.
