My dear friend " EARTHA KIT " would come over to visit us at the train for cook outs. Mama Slavovi & family would do the cooking. Eartha loved their cold soup. Eartha was on Broadway in " TIMBUKTU." She was nominated for the Tony. The day of the awards she came down to MADISON SQ. GARDEN to catch our last show before we left town. She whistled in the dressing room, and even tho she went outside did all the things you are supposed to do.... for people that are superstitious do..... She said well I just blew it..... Lisa M. got the TONY that year. Anyone that saw Eartha's show , I think would agree with me..... Eartha should have won IT......Eartha would sometimes stay on the train, all the kids adored her so she would sleep with all of them. My dear friend " BOBBY JOHNSON " would let us use his side of the railroad car. And his bed was king size.....So they slept in his bed....... I have been a very lucky person, to have so many wonderful friends, and the great life I have had.....I thank " GOD " for all my blessings.......That is Araceli another dear friend. I am sure you all know she was married to Charley B. tiger trainer & performance director for many years on RBBB.....Right now I can't think for the life of me the man in the picture's name. I think it was Angel ridding act....... Barbara

When we got to Cal. Eartha had her caretakers have a beautiful layout of food & drink, by the pool. So every day off we went to Eartha's home. She had called me when we were getting close, to Ca. to remind me that she had opened her home to us. I told her that I didn't want to bother her. That was why I had not called. She said ......" BARBARA " !!...... YOU... DO NOT BOTHER ME.".....As only Eartha Kit could say...... What a wonderful person.... We first met in the M.S.G. when she came to be the" GUEST RINGMASTER " She rode ANNA MAY into the ring..Her mother's name was Anna May......We just hit it off from there. She invited us to see " TIMBUKTU" and then to come back stage. So it got to be a regular thing, as she always included the kids. Her dressing room was beautiful. All white carpeting with a fantastic Persian Rug over that. A fantastic " WHITE CHAISE LOUNGE. " Just the place you want to take two rowdy kids. Now on top of that Eartha had very bad feet ( meaning very painful) from so many years of wearing shoes that did not fit. So after every show they had a huge metal tub of water with ice in it, to soak her feet in. Boy when my two kids saw that they sat down to play in the ice water..... BIG !!... BIG !!..." FUN. "......Of course I fussed at them to get out of the water as they were splashing it on the WHITE PERSIAN CARPET......And Eartha said to leave them alone..... They were just having fun.....And she played with them.....That was Eartha......We would go to STUDIO 54 sometimes. Of course the kids didn't go then..... The Studio 54 would invite Eartha to be their guest. And she would take us along as her guest........Boy what a scene that was. She was not into drugs.....She grew all her own vegetables in Ca. and had them flown to N.Y. And it was all organic...... We day in dated the next year in Chicago, when she went on tour with " TIMBUKTU. " That was a blast too. But I'll have to save that story for another day. I am afraid that I am going to bore everyone with my long winded stories. I don't mean to........ Hey, Chic it was so nice to talk to you today........Barbara......

in June but that's not right for a

fellow of his age (although I'd bet

he wouldn't agree) but sometime in

August should work out just fine
