Hello John, James Patterson bought the Gentry title in January of 1923. He operated as Gentry-Patterson in 23, 24 and 25. He was foreclosed on by the Miami County National Bank in Conway, Arkansas on September 18th.
Prior to that he had purchased the Gollmar title in 1916 and operated under Gollmar-Patterson for the 1917 season.
James got his start in the outdoor entertainment world buying a jenny in 1896. From this humble start he built a successful carnival operation which he used to springboard into the faster paced world of the circus.
His son, James Jr. wrote a manuscript about growing up in his fathers circus that is about to be published by our local historical society for $25 including the shipping if you are interested.

I am hoping to find an early picture of Theo Forstall to be used in the Patterson book. Do you have one or know where I might find one? Fred Dahlinger suggested that you might have an idea.
