Both of these images show the giant elephant hotel in the background This was the 2nd of 3 by the same builder in 1885 & burnt down in 1896 The 1st 1 was in Margate just South of Atlantic City that is still there & the 3rd was in Cape May that was torn down long long gone Irvin had the vision of creating a similar structure at the entrance of Circus World in Haines City
The CW hotel was going to be 23 stories tall. It would have been impressive on top of that hill at US 27 & I-4, but like the park, the tourism business model just couldn't support it "out there". My Gosh, it was 15 minutes from Disney.
Yes Larry certainly more impressive the the Colonel Sanders distribution warehouse looking structure as built
