Clyde Beatty #13


My Dad said that due to his poor eyesight and being bald before he was thirty, acquaintances were surprised to learn he was younger than both Clyde Beatty and Arky Scott.
Barbara and I played the Detroit Shrine date several times in the early 60's and Mr. Beatty would always ask about my Dad and say that he needed to get some information regarding a book being written.
Stands to reason he wouldn't have been much on past history, pretty busy guy.

When I was still married to Rex Williams, we went to visit the "Clyde Beatty Circus" Ben was four or five years old. I was trying to introduce him to Clyde, I said to him you remember he is on the TV every week in the serials......Soooo....Ben says O yes mom, the one you won't let me watch..... On that cord Beatty started laughing and said that is OK......I couldn't stand them either. Talk about a RED face..... I wanted to drop into the ground.........Barbara......
