For those of you who have just tuned in, back in Chapter 1, some tigers that were part of a “wild cargo” from Asia were shown escaping ashore from a ship that was wrecked along the African coast during a storm 15 years earlier. Over the years, these escaped tigers established themselves and multiplied, thus helping to explain why tigers are living wild in this portion of Africa. If this sounds a little far-fetched, keep in mind that monkeys, pythons and other exotic jungle animals are, today, living wild in the swamps and back country of modern-day Florida. Most of them are pets (or the off-spring of pets) that were dumped there by owners who could no longer cope with them. I’ve never heard of tigers living wild in Florida, but if it turns out that there are, it wouldn’t surprise me
