Chapter Seven #13



As Jim and Mike are making their way along the base of a high cliff, a long-dormant volcano suddenly comes back to life, blotting out the sun with a cloud of ash and causing a strong earthquake.

Long-dormant volcanoes that come back to life were a popular plot device with serial script writers. Other serials that feature erupting volcanoes include DARKEST AFRICA, ROBINSON CRUSOE OF CLIPPER ISLAND, HAWK OF THE WILDERNESS, and THE ADVENTURES OF CAPTAIN MARVEL, to name just a few.
