This poster was given to me by Dick McGraw in 1969, and hung above my newborn son's crib, in Thousand Oaks. Mine has a date tail reminding us again that the show is "With Clyde Beatty"--in Parkersburg, Afternoon and Night, May 16--and that this is a 'Gigantic Railroad Circus". Pencilled front and back is "1935".
Dave Price reminded me that this poster was used throughout Beatty's association with the Cole show of Jess Adkins and Zack Terrell - 1935 to mid-1938. In that annus horribilis of '38, Cole closed early, and Clyde and Harriett Beatty moved over to the sister show, Robbins Bros., to finish the damaged season.
