Just when you think you know everything.....this comes along.
I learn something new every day
Only problem is I forget at least
6 other things so it's of no help
My Dad did an act like this and a sway pole act at Steel Pier in Atlantic City. I think it was in the 1920's The name of the act was Bonnellis
Hi Henry the 1st balance ladder act
I saw was Charlie Nock & his wife
They were billed as The Rixos
I have just learned that only the 4
corner photos are of Kenny & Billy
The center is of Bill Banks & Billy
I just got some serious heat for it
I saw the Rixos on the '57 Ringling show. The ladder they balanced on the trapeze was the longest I've seen up there. As with everything the Nocks did family-wide, this was an act of heart-pounding suspense.
Kenny reminded me that Dorothy was
Charlie's wife (I had fogotten)
Kenny came by today to offer me yet
another ration of grief over this
Wilkens photo showing me that only
the bottom 2 corner views are of
him & Billy & the other 3 are Banks
I have no idea where I found it but
he says it didn't come from him
A mutual friend (who will remain
unmentioned) was thoughtful enough
to call Kenny & mention the poor
form shown & the rest is history
