2009 Calendar #8

"Equestrienne Corky Cristiani, RBBB 1945."

Hate to nit-pik but I don't think the Cristianis weren't on the show in 1945.
Bagonghi needs needs no introduction!

Oscar Cristiani once told me that they were appearing in Ken Murray's Blackouts about that time and if any of the horses soiled the ring they would stop the act completely.
After a drum roll Bagonghi, dressed in a German uniform, steel helmet and Hitler mustache, would come marching in, a shovel perched on his shoulder.
He would then made the Heil salute, pick up the manure and goose step out.
This would positively stop the show, so much so they were asked if they could make that happen every show.
Once the Stage Manager came up and said, "My God, Louis B. Mayer is in the house, could you please make that horse shit?"
