I agree with Chic(hell's apparently frozen over), Wolfgang was the best lion act I have ever seen, hot and fast. What a great era to get started in the "cat business," but some real hard act's to follow. It's what competition used to be all about. I have an autographed copy of Wolfgang's book, which I prize, although it is not autographed to me. It is autographed to a female"dompteur"(I take liberties) who had become upset because Wolfgang dared to offer her advice, during one of her many "misadventures" in the steel bound den of fury. She said, and I quote, "he thinks he knows everything." I said, and I quote, "he pretty much does. He gave you a gift, and you were too ignorant to see it." In addition, no one ever looked as good in a gladiator costume, as Wolfgang Holzmair. Including, Marcan......
Chic, That's 3. Did you forget GGW? I agree on 2 of them, but not the comedy bit. I just prefer real training, and always appreciated the clown's for my yuks.

Sorry to hear that the weather is
so cold down there in Mexico Wade
It's a balmy 74f here in Sarasota
But all the same thank you
My 4 alltime favorite cat acts are
"The 1 & Only" for a fighting mixed
Jean Charles Zerbini (before the
wireless microphone) comedy mixed
Charly Baumann for elegant tigers
& Wolfgang as I mentioned before
Chic,

Maybe I wasn't clear on Clyde Beatty
as "The 1 & Only" so that makes 4
Zerbini's mixed cats were very well
trained (some by his father) & his
act was superb until he got hold of
that damn microphone & no I didn't
forget Gunther but the 4 I mentioned
are my favorites (of what I've seen)
Gunther was certainly an incredible
all around charismatic performer
