BUCKLES: This answers a long-held question, at least as to origin. Parley Baer had silhouettes like these of the famous photo of Lou Jacobs on one knee, handing the single flower to Ernestine, mounted on Stranger, which graced the 1944 RBB cover. He had them also of other poses with Ernestine, and several of the features of the Hanneford act. You may have seen these when you visited him in Tarzana. When Parley died, and the home was broken up, the silhouettes were not seen again. At your mention of Polack and Vancouver, I knew this had to be the same artisan, but his name does not come to mind.
