Thanks for sharing these photos. Besides Bobby, were there any other wrestling tigers in Hollywood back in the 1930s? Do you have any information as to which pictures Bobby appeared in?
ERIC: I'm not sure of the demand for wrestling tigers in the '30s. Bobby had to have been an easy choice with Louis Roth as his trainer. I'll have to hope for other sources to enhance Bobby's filmography, and that may take some doing. Stay tuned.
We all know that Mel Koontz and his 3 Jackie lions got first calls for picture work throughout the '40s and '50s. Not as well recognized is the fact that Mel also had contact tigers, and was often "sacrificed" in jungle and gladiator scenes.
