Circus Vargas "Daub" 2013

Unfortunately with few exceptions, this is more typical of a circus poster "showing" in 2013. I snapped this picture last week in Phoenix, Arizona - with one small poster about the size of a window card tacked to a community bulletin board.

The real issue is trying to get anything of size in a store anymore. Most corp. stores have rules about not allowing anything on their windows. It's the mom & pop stores, cleaners, etc. that will help the sponsor. This is one of the reason the shows have gone to coupons as most places will allow you to put them by the registers. As a sponsor we use to get permission from a major food chain for small posters by the door, but they would put coupons by all the checkout counters for two weeks prior to the show. These worked well, but as a sponsor we also went back a couple of times each week to keep the holders full! But posters are tough anymore!

I have seen coupons in Walmart in our area before.
But unlike your local sponsors and you refilling coupons most shows put them where they can and when they are gone that is it.
We have a local food chain that allows tickets and posters and Ringling when it town always uses these stores.
In the old days with Circus Vargas playing malls I can remember posters and tickets in every store.
I took the Vargas engagament directors and we plasterd everthing in sight and even covered a closed gas station on I-10 and Cliff saw it coming into town.
That is when Vargas has real one sheets and very large date tails.
Those were the days.
