Flash Gordon #1 (From Eric Beheim)

In his 1941 book Jungle Performers, Clyde Beatty devotes several pages to describing the time he wrestled a tiger named Bobby during the filming of the 1935 serial Darkest Africa. With the cameras rolling, the tiger, which was owned and trained by Clyde’s first instructor Louis Roth, forgot it was supposed to be acting and gave Clyde a few bad moments until someone thought to distract it by rattling its cage door.
