My mother Sarah whose family for many years owned and operated Orton Bros. Circus based in Adel, Iowa. My father delivered two young elephants "Sadie" and "Elsie" from Lancaster to the Orton Show and remained a while to get them used to their new surroundings during which time he met the show owner's daughter.
