Hunt Bros. Elephants #1 (From Buckles)

Can't recall the Elephant Empress' name but the elephant is "Chandre" of later Royal Hanneford fame.

Buckles, I don`t know if you remember an old guy named Harold that worked with the Royal Hannerford elephants for years, I think he was a Native American Cherokee . I have a picture of him I took many years ago sleeping with Chandre in the back of the bull truck. I`ll look it up and send it to you

Buckels I think that's Henry Bush's
wife. Her name escapes me right now
but I'm pretty sure that's who it is. Dick

Hal: Harold was a character around the Hanneford show. I remember once Tommy and several others were talking about some very high-class restaurant they'd heard about in this town and all they decided to go.

They were no more than seated than they saw the hostess seating Harold who had overheard their conversation. Everyone wondered what he would find on the menu that he could afford.

Dave, I just can`t picture Harold in a high class place like that, but it wouldn`t surprise me. You`re right, He was a real character but also a real gentle & quiet man that loved those elephants. Am I right about him being Cherokee ? I also have many stories that Tommy told me over the years, Some of them I just can`t put on the blog, maybe sometime we can get together and I`ll relay them to you. By the way, Royal Hannerford will be here in Columbia for their Shrine date Feb 8-10, got some other fans coming in for it, you`re welcome to make the trip from Nasville to join us, let me or Bob Cline know.

Her name was Teressa Aguilar, sister or Tina Munoz( Los Argentinos). Later lived with Roy Bush and finally maried Lonnie Burket. She and ex husband Manual Aguilar did a classy forehead perch act and his wife was Carmen Del Teide, balancing trapeze.
