Fred Dahlinger wrote a great article for the Nov-Dec 1982 Bandwagon on Bode, the wagon maker of Cincinnati. He says that the Hagenbeck order was the largest wagon order in history with something like forty-eight wagons for $38,000.00. Some of them stayed around circuses for years and were the features of many great parades.
